Lindner's Angling Edge
Like everyone in his famous fishing family, Troy Lindner spent his youthful summers paying his dues at the In-Fisherman Communications Network. He cleaned boats, wrangled photo shoots, logged In-Fisherman television field tapes, and organized slides and photos for the editorial department. He even spent time as a cameraman on the Professional Walleye Trail—PWT. So like the rest of the gang, he cut his teeth in a fishing environment.
Today, Troy puts his business degree from Arizona State University to good use, operating a private fitness training firm called California Complete Fitness in the Los Angeles area. Many of his clients are in the entertainment and music industry. Last January, while training Olympic Gold Medalist Amanda Beard, they both appeared in a short training feature for Fox Sports Net’s “The Best Damn Sport Show Period.”
Over the years, traveling, filming and tournament fishing side-by-side with his legendary father, Al Lindner, Troy has fished and filmed extensively all across North America. Troy takes time to go back home to his roots in the North Country of Minnesota, where he films a segment or two for Lindner’s Angling Edge TV show each year.
Troy will also be a field reporter for the National Radio Network Outdoors This Week program, which plays seven (7) times a week to 26 million homes via cable radio network, with 100-plus broadcast stations. These programs are also carried on USA Radio Network seven (7) days per week.

Late Summer 2008 Update: 2008 American Bass Castaic Region Anglers of the Year award went to Troy Lindner and Bill Siemantel. Troy finished 34th in point standing in the FLW Western Stren Series
Fall 2008 - Troy will be fishing the FLW National Guard Western Series on the Columbia River in September 2008 and then he’ll be off to compete in the Stren Championship in November on Table Rock.
May 2008—Troy Lindner finished in 34th place in the 2008 FLW Stren Western standings and qualified for the FLW Stren National Championship on Table Rock Lake November 5-8, 2008.
Troy is currently still leading in points with team partner, Bill Siemantel in both the American Bass SoCal Region and Angler’s Choice Classic Region.
APRIL 10, 2008 (Lake Havasu)—Troy Lindner topped the California team with a three-day weight of 36-15. Winning the California title is a TBF rookie with a well-known fishing pedigree – Troy Lindner of Los Angeles, who caught 36 pounds, 15 ounces over three days to advance to his first TBF National Championship as a boater.
“I had a limit by 9 a.m.,” Lindner said of the final day. “I was fishing up in the river, using a Berkley Power Tube and a Berkley Chigger Craw on Berkley fluorocarbon, 8-pound-test. That’s what I was throwing all three days.” Even though the wind may have blown some guys out of the main lake today, Lindner said his spot in the river didn’t get too crowded, leaving all the more fish for him to catch.
“It was better than the second day; I just didn’t get a big bite like I had the first day,” Lindner said of day three. “Today was all just fishing bays and points and habitat, wood specifically. These fish were probably pre- and postspawn.”
SPRING 2008—With the 2008 season underway, Troy is currently 26th in the standings after 2 FLW Western Stren Series events. He also fished National Bass West’s Southwest Region, winning the first three tournaments on Castaic. Troy and his partner, Bill Siemantel, lead the US Anglers Choice Castaic Region, winning the first two tournaments of that circuit. Troy is also fishing WON Bass and 100% Bass in the southern region.
WINTER 2007—The 2007 season was a big year for Troy, who for the first time fished as a touring tournament pro. He participated in 42 tournaments, winning 9-times, taking first place one out of every 5 tournaments he entered. Another 7 times, he finished in the top five, and racked up 4 big fish awards. In September, he finished runner-up in the FLW Bass Federation state championship, qualifying for the Western Regional Championship in April on Lake Havasu. |
