Lindner Brothers Continue Reign as Champions At Fort Francis Canadian Bass Championship

BRAINERD, MN, August 2004—James and Bill Lindner, both television producers for Lindner Media production, made a clean sweep in a 148 boat field with a 3 day (15 fish) catch of 53.42 pounds for the second year in a row in the Fort Francis Canadian Bass Championship held July 22, 23, and 24 in Fort Francis, Ontario.
“The most critical factor for us was moving away from shallow biting smaller fish, and searching in nearby deep water locations where the big bass typically transition to at this time of year,” stated tournament champion Bill Lindner. “We gambled and swung for the fence and with the critical moves we made they paid off big time. With the late season and moving fish our plan was to fish where the bass were going to—instead of where they were coming from.”
Taking the top spot as well as winning Day 1 Big Catch, Day 3 Big Catch, Top Lund/Mercury Boat, Top Finishing MinnKota Boat, and Top Kid/Pro Team, Bill and Jim earned $55,000 (Canadian) for their efforts. In the tournaments ten-year history, either Bill or Jim has placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, or 9th. The winning catch was caught on Berkley Jerk Shad and Power Minnow.
This tourney has become a real family event for the Lindners. While brothers Jim and Bill partner, so does Al and his son Troy, and Ron with his youngest son Daniel. Everyone looks forward to this event as a high point each year.
